Funny Moments for Newcastle United
One thing about Newcastle United is that there is always some news about them, either good or bad.
The current manage of Newcastle United is one of Europe’s elite managers in the person of Rafa Benitez. Under his management, it seems that everything is fine with the team. So fans can simply look back at the past years and laugh at some of the disasters that have occurred in this team. Fans must surely remember some, if not all, of these funny events.
IN many headlines in the past, the name Alan Pardew has come up. Brilliant, dreadful, and downright hilarious news, Alan Pardew was in it. Pardew is always involved in controversy but this is the worst of it all. During the match at Hull City, Pardew head-butted Hull midfielder David Meyler. A fine of ?100,000 by Newcastle United, and ?60,000 by the FA was meted out to Pardew for the head-butt!
When two players of your team square up in a game, it is something unusual and funny, a football lol, and this is what happened to Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer. The normal thing is that players of one team square up with players of the opposing team. And this is a common occurrence. The funny thing is that Dyer and Bowyer were teammates in the Toon Army at that time. After the fight, the two players received red cards from being violent. If it wasn’t bad enough, the team lost to Aston Villa at home with a score of 3 – 0.
Newcastle United fans know that it is an unthinkable thing to lose to Sunderland at home. But they lost 3 – 0 to the team at home. And there is this one fan who took it very seriously and took it out on a poor police horse called Bud. The fan, one Barry Rogerson, 45 years old, taunted the horse and punched it on the head. He was then sentenced to a year in jail for this stupid actions. The humiliation from this event will follow him for the rest of his life.
There are many poor managers that Newcastle United has employed but none the worse than Joe Kinnear. He did so many funny things in his career although they were really terrible during those times. The most hilarious of all was when he tried to sign someone who already plays for his team. It was during the League Cup game between Swansea and Birmingham that this event occurred. At this time Shane Ferguson was on loan at the Brummies. It was a great game that he play where he dominated the midfield. When Kinnear saw him play, he was impressed and said that he was going to sign Ferguson. The press was surprised at what seemed to be a joke but proved to be ignorance on Kinnear’s part that Ferguson actually belonged to his team. This is funny indeed!
